My name is Ainde Wainzo. There is no record of when I was born but a guestimate is 1940. I am married but my wife deserted me. I have two sons who are both in school: Onesimus (born October 6, 1989) is attending the University of Goroka and Jason (born May 29, 1991) is in grade 11 at Aiyura National High School. Jason withdrew from school this year due to personal factors and will re-enroll in 2011.
My present work includes being the facilitator for the Angaataha Old Testament Translation Project, mentoring translation trainees, and I am a Scripture checker or consultant for other BTA/SIL translation work.
In August 1972 I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour, Lord and Master through an open air preaching of Christ by Ralph Bell, an associate evangelist of Billy Graham. In June 1978 God called me to translation work at Christ For The Nation Institute near Dallas, Texas. I came to translation work early 1981 and joined BTA in August 1982. My co-worker, James Namaranso, and I completed the Angaataha New Testament in 2003 and dedicated it in December 2004. The Angaatiya people are using the Angaataha New Testament now. They have asked us to translate the Old Testament for them.
My passion is to see the whole Bible translated into the Angaataha language and the Angaatiya people reading it, and accepting Jesus Christ as their own personal savior, Lord and Master, that every single one of them - believe in Him and go to heaven.
